Intro into Jamaica

Jamaica is the third largest island in the Caribbean and home to the legendary Bob Marley. They love their music on this tropical, but there is more than just reggae and Rastafarians. The capital Kingston is the centre of commercial activity with lively arts and entertainment scene including live music, clubs, pubs and good restaurants. It also has old colonial houses against the stunning backdrop of the Blue Mountains, which are beautiful as well.

Outside the city the two main tourist resorts are Negril and Montego Bay, Jamaica’s second city, and home to some of the best beaches in the world. Tourism is the main industry in the country and this is where the tourists flock to and it well set up for them. If you are looking for white sand beaches, mountains, waterfalls, diving and the best coffee in the world, then make Jamaica your next holiday.

The island could also claim to be the birthplace of Britain's not-so-secret agent, James Bond. Most of 007's adventures were conceived and written at Ian Fleming's home, Goldeneye, which is now a hotel. Actually, Jamaica features heavily in Fleming's stories, with Bond visiting the island in Live And Let Die and at least four others. If you are really into your movies then maybe you would like to take a trip to James Bond Beach, which was used in the filming of Dr. No. For more information on Jamaica go to
