Clubs and Pubs in Wales

Cardiff has a big student population and every night you will find most pubs busy with people enjoying a pint or two. If you're looking for some traditional ale, most pubs in Wales serve at least one type of this brew. Cardiff is home to one of the largest Welsh breweries, Brains. This brewery has approximately 200 of its own pubs in Cardiff and its surrounding areas.

Clwb Ifor Bach

If you want a traditional Welsh pub this is the one we recommend. With three floors of live music, cheap drinks and lots of locals, it’s an excellent place for a pint. If you don’t speak Welsh you may not understand everything that's going on, but that's half the charm of this pub.

If you want a popular Irish pub that features a wide variety of Irish and Welsh brews this would be the place.

This is a chain of Australian pubs found all over the UK. If you looking for a place to watch sports events this is probably the best in Cardiff.

The Black Boy Inn
Northgate Street

This small pub is an excellent place to go for a pint and something to eat.  You will have an opportunity to get to meet some locals while maybe even learning some welsh to go with it.

Tafarn Y Porth (JD Wetherspoon)
5/9 Eastgate Street

You can find JD Wetherspoon’s all over the UK, so finding one in Caernarfon is no surprise. This huge pub is an excellent place to have a cheap pint before heading out on the town.

The Crown
15-19 High Street

This is one of the most popular pubs in Caernarfon and an excellent place for a night on the town.

The Anglesey Arms Hotel
Slate Quay

This is an excellent pub to go for a bite to eat and a few pints.
