When you arrive into Scotland

Glasgow


Glasgow International Airport is the busiest of Scotland's three main international airports, and handles about 7 million passengers per year. The airport is located approx. 20 km west of Glasgow. All public buses depart from the front of the terminal. In order to get to Glasgow City Center or Edinburgh take bus number 905. It should be located in bay 1 or 2 leaving every 10 - 15 minutes. It will cost 4 - 5 pounds if you are going to either Edinburgh or Glasgow City Center. Train
The nearest train station is in Paisley, which is three kilometers from the airport.  Take a taxi for ₤5 or catch a bus from outside the terminal building.  The bus fare is included in a rail ticket available from the airport public transport desk.  For more information on Scot Rail go to  www.scotrail.co.uk

 


Taxi
There is a taxi rank set up outisde the terminal buildinfg and it will cost you around £15 to get the city centre.

 


Bus
Scottish Citylink buses have a rank set up outside the terminal building and you can catch bus number 905, which is the Airport Express bus to Buchanan Street station. In the city centre the buses depart for the terminal every 10 minutes and tickets are ₤4.30, but these prices are subject to change.

 

 

 

Edinburgh


Edinburgh International Airport was opened in 1977 and its located 10km west of the city centre. For more information on Edinburgh International Airport go to www.edinburghairport.com

 


Bus
The Airlink 100 service goes to Waverley Bridge in the centre of Edinburgh. The journey takes around 25 minutes and the bus leaves every 10 minutes.  It will cost ₤3.50 for a single and £6 for an open return ticket, but these prices are subject to change. You can also take bus number 35, which is a public bus from outside the terminal building, but this journey will take at 45 minutes.

 


Taxi
There are taxi stands outside the terminal building and it will cost you around £20 to get to the city centre.

 

If you are arriving in Edinburgh by train you will either arrive at Haymarket Station or Waverley Train Station. There is a taxi rank at Waverley Train Station inside and outside the terminal.
