By Ferry

There are daily ferry connections from Helsinki to Estonia, Sweden and Germany. The Helsinki to Tallinn route is one of the busiest ferry routes in Europe. The journey time is only around 1.5 hours and on board the ferry has everything from restaurants to a Casino. The two main Finnish ferry companies are Finnlines and Silja. For more information go to

By Train

There are regular train connections from Helsinki to all major towns in Finland, as well as the Lapland. There are 6000km of rail network with modern rolling stock. VR Ltd operates an extensive rail service around Finland. In addition, this station has three daily departures to Russia.

•    The “Sibelius” leaves Helsinki at 7:42 and arrives in St. Petersburg at 14:23.
•    The “Repin” leaves Helsinki at 15:42 and arrives in St. Petersburg at 20:47.
•    The “Tolstoy” leaves Helsinki at 17:42 and arrives in St. Petersburg at 1:18.
