When you arrive

Tallinn


Tallinn International Airport is located 5km northeast of the city centre. For more information go to www.tallinn-airport.ee


By Plane

Tallinn’s Airport is very modern and small, so there is no chance of getting lost. It located around 15 km from the city. For more information go to www.tallin-airport.ee


Taxi

A taxi to the city centre will cost around EEK70 and they are available just outiside the terminal building.


Bus

To take a bus to the city centre you have to catch bus number 2 and it leaves on weekdays every 20-40 minutes from 6:19am-11:49pm.  On weekends it leaves every 30-50 minutes from 6:44am-11:49pm.  The journey will take about 15 minutes and tickets cost EEK10 in an advance and EEK15 on board.


By Ship

Most ferries and catamarans arrive at the Passenger Port terminals A through D. Majority of the tourists that come to Tallinn arrive by Ferry from either Stockholm or Helsinki. The Helsinki to Tallinn route is one of the busiest ferry routes in Europe. The journey time is only around 1.5 hours and on board the ferry has everything from restaurants to a Casino. The three main ferries are Silja Line, Eckerö Line and Tallink that run between Helsinki and Tallinn. When you arrive in Tallinn the Old Town is just a short 10 minute walk away.


By Bus

Eurolines is the best bus company in the country as they have an excellent network that links all the towns and cities in the country. Please stay posted to this website for all the latest news on how you can go about booking seats on Eurolines.

If you arrive in by bus the station is just off the main highway going to Tartu. The best way to get to town is by bus. The three best ones are 17A, 23 and 23A. It should get off at the fourth stop.


By Train

The only international connections are from Moscow and St. Petersburg. The daily train arrives in at Tallinn’s Balti Jaam, just a 5 minute walk to the Old Town. There is no train anymore between Tallinn and Riga.
