Galle Negombo

Galle is located on the south coast of Sri Lanka, south of the capital of Colombo. Not only are Galle a beautiful beach resort, but it has great shopping, buzzing bars and the 400-year-old Galle Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site. In biblical times it’s said that King Solomon came to Galle for its beauty and its trading power. Today, it attracts celebrities from Sri Lanka and India, historians, and others looking for something a bit different than just a traditional beach package holiday.

The two best beaches in Galle are at Light House Beach and Unawatuna. Both of these beaches have nice beaches and plenty of water sports to keep you busy. The nightlife in Galle is one of the best places in the country. There are plenty of bars and clubs along the beach and in historical city centre. Negombo is a fishing village, which is located on the west coast of Sri Lanka. Negombo is the most popular resort in the country and it’s a year round destination for its fantastic weather, amazing health spas and beautiful golden white-sandy beaches and seafood restaurants, which are the best in the Sri Lanka. Unlike the other resorts in the country, this is the most popular with western tourists, as there are several package holiday companies operating in the resort. Two other things attractions of Negombo is the great diving site of Kudapaduwa, which is an old ship wreck. Also, if you are in the area you can’t miss the 5th century Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which is considered to be the eighth wonder of the world.
