Hong Kong is situated at the estuary of the Pearl River, was not long ago it was home to a small fishing village and over night it became one of the most important ports in Asia. It’s where East meets west and island has four main areas. They are Kowloon, Hong Kong Island, the New Territories and the Outlying Islands. It has recently been given back to the Chinese in 1997 after a 99 year lease, but it’s still a hugely popular destination for business and travel. As a duty free destination it’s a shopper’s paradise and it’s highly recommended.
